I've delayed this post way too long. Christina and i successfully tried all the cupcake flavours (except strawberry) before her surgery. here is a full list of the flavours and our ratings (out of 10).
red velvet: 10 - perfect!
vanilla: 10 - perfect!
coconut: 10 - perfect!
mocha: 7
lemon: 8
chocolate: 8
rocky road: 8
cookies n cream: 8
smores: 9
salted caramel:
peanut butter: 8
green tea: 6
over all the cupcakes were amazing! there were a few combinations i would've changed (ex. mocha on chocolate instead of vanilla cake). The only problem i did have (which was the reason behind some of the lower scores) was the butter cream, it was often too sweet and too creamy making it hard to finish the cupcake without feeling a bit over stuffed. I feel like maybe keeping the cupcakes refrigerated before eating may help this. The cake of the cupcakes was almost always perfect, other than the green tea cupcake it was always well flavoured and the perfect density!
although not every cupcake ranked perfectly So Into Cupcakes is definitely a gem in Scarborough. Its great to finally have quality cupcakes in this end of the city! I genuinely hope they continue to grow and succeed in this neighbourhood!

so into cupcakes: week 2
recap: my girl Christina & I have decided to attempt to try all of So Into Cupcakes 12 flavours this month! Here is a review the flavours we tried in week 2!
S'mores: 9/10 this amazing cupcake is just like smore, its chocolate cake with toasted marshmallow frosting topped with a graham cracker on top. The chocolate cake was moist and I think we were both quite fascinated by the crisp toasting on the top of the marshmallow icing. mmmm delish!
Mocha: 7/10 This one was a vanilla cake topped with coffee infused chocolate buttercream garnished with cocoa powder and was not a fave of mine. The cake tasted great (the 1st vanilla I've had from them) and the icing was perfect but something was off there. I fee like it was the combination of vanilla and mocha. Personally i think the cupcake would've been much better if it was mocha buttercream on a chocolate cupcake OR a cupcake that had a hint of coffee to it. Over all not my favourite but it was pretty good!
A friend of mine had the cookies and creme and LOVED it so i think thats what i'll try next week! stay tuned for more on our "Cupcake Mission"...

so into cupcakes: week 1
recap: my girl Christina & I have decided to attempt to try all of So Into Cupcakes 12 flavours this month! Here is a review of our 1st experience!
Christina had a Lg. Coconut cupcake and a mini Rocky Road, I had a Lg. Peanut Butter and a mini red velvet. I know that sounds like alot but she had just found the place and after seeing the cupcakes in the store i'm so surprised that she didnt buy EVERYTHING.
Coconut: 10/10 The Coconut cupcake is vanilla cake with coconut buttercream covered with shredded coconut and so far its Christina's favorite!
Rocky Road: 8/10 Chocolate cake with marshmallow frosting topped with walnuts and chocolate chunks this cupcake looked amazing and tasted great, plus we really loved the idea of real marshmallow frosting on top.
Peanut Butter: 8/10 I'm really pick about chocolate cake but this chocolate cupcake topped with with peanut butter buttercream garnished with chopped peanuts was really good. The buttercream was perfect, flufy, smooth and the perfect peanut butter flavour!
Red Velvet: 10/10 I've loved red velvet for years and it seems like the newest craze which means this city is full of bakeries trying to master is...let me just tell you its not easy. I must say though I was quite amazingly surprised by the quality of So Into Cupcakes' red velvet. The cupcake is red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting topped with red velvet crumbs and the icing is AMAZING. Cream cheese icing is a talent that not many people have but the girls at So into Cupcakes have got it!!!
Stay tuned for new flavour reviews next week!

So Into Cupcakes ♥
We all have crazy days, last week was full of them for me. A combination of absolute nonsense made for a horrible week until my girl (& fellow foodie) Christina called me one afternoon. She was on her way back to work and called to ask me what i like better...chocolate or vanilla. If you know me you probably know two things about me, i love food and i dont make decisions so i let her surprise me and i can honestly say this was an AMAZING surprise!
Out for lunch that day, Christina @christainaa stumbled upon heaven and returned to work with the most amazing cupcakes!
So Into Cupcakes is located in north eastern scarborough at 2060 Ellesmere Road (Markham Rd and Ellesmere). They have over a dozen amazing flavours that are made from scratch daily. The cupcakes come in two sizes, large ($2.50) and mini ($1.50). The staff are just as sweet and amazing as the cupcakes and I can't tell you how excited am to have such amazing treats in the east end. Never again will search and travel accross the city to the beaches or down town to pay for over priced brand name cupcakes.
As i mentioned earler So Into Cupcakes has 12 flavours they produce on a daily basis as well as flavours they make as daily specials. Our goal is to try every flavour before my dear sweet Christina leaves me to have knee surgery. With less than a month to go we've definitely got out work cut out for us but believe me its nothing we cant handle. I will be blogging our experiences as well as reviews on the flavours as we go through it...stay tuned for updates and as always...

touring on the TTC
So I came up with this brilliant idea that I'm going to spend my summer taking EVERY SINGLE TTC Bus route...dont ask why. At first I was excited, then I decided I was crazy and now I'm sure I'm crazy however so far its been alot of fun. In order to track/share my progress obviously I'm going to blog about it! Starting of course with the routes I take most frequently, over the next couple of weeks there will hopefully be a large number of posts detailing my ridiculous mission...

going greek! Astoria on the Danforth!
I haven't necessarily come up with a standard format for blogging certain things yet, but i guess that will come as i go...First of all HAPPY CANADA DAY (even though it was yesterday) i can honestly say i had a fantastic holiday! I spent much of the morning cleaning sorting and packing and around 3 decided i was hungry.

After much deliberation over what to eat myself and Jess (my azn sister) decided we wanted greek...Most often once we decide what we want to eat the next question is where however when we want greek there is only one place to go THE DANFORTH. I will be doing a much larger post on the Danforth itself so stay tuned for that...Today's post is about one of my favorite Greek restuarants...ASTORIA!
Astoria is located on the Danforth about 5 minutes from Chester Subway Station (on the Bloor-Danforth line). The location is convenient the atmosphere is amazing, the service is never less than friendly and most importantly the food is beyond satisfying. We each had Souvlaki dinner (mine chicken, Js lamb) both with rice and potatoes however im sure the other options are fantastic too. We could've ordered appetizers and Baklava for dessert but believe me unless you can eat a horse the dinner is enough...even just the amazing greek salad they bring you to start is filling!

Stuffed and satisfied Jess and I then headed down to the beach for some Canada Day fireworks and to relax...a meal like that requires a nap!

i love my city...
Hey Guys
I guess a first post should always be an introduction so here it is. I started this blog for two very simple reasons, 1. i love my city. and 2. i know my city. Ask anyone who knows me, if you need to get somewhere or find something tia will know where it is what it is and how to get there (by car or ttc). With summer in full swing i thought this would be the best time to start this blog, showing off all the amazing things my city has to offer.
stay tuned...
